Into the Wild Blue Yonder

Every time I pass an airport, I wonder where you are, Looking up in the sky, is that you gliding by the star. Tall, dark, angular jaw, handsome, the perfect mate, Had to be the luckiest girl when you asked me on a date. You were everything I wanted, at least that’s what I thought, Kind, gentle but strong, a personality that all girls sought. Meeting in Bermuda seemed like a dream come true, Inviting me to England, in time our relationship grew. We criss-crossed the Atlantic to visit several times a year, Your love for me was so true, Jurgen you were so sincere. But then I met my future husband, it was love at first site, Well maybe he didn’t know it, but I just knew it was right. Bought a house being single and was establishing roots, You tried to convince my Mom, you two were in cahoots, When our eyes last met, you knew something was wrong, Wanting to move to Germany, how could I possibly belong. Marriage and a life with me would be perfect, you said you knew, I drove you to the airport and said I’d think on it and off you flew. If I’d only expressed how wonderful you are, but I was not in love, Maybe I would have less guilt when I hear airplanes flying above. Sometimes we are almost prodded into loving someone, but please don't feel guilty, Lee. You followed your heart. If you hadn't, just think of the remorse you might be living with now. Congratulations on your win in Michael's contest. Love, Carolyn
