Intimate Truth

She walks with dreams, deep passions woo, Into euphoric ambience of a moonlit night Carrying sweet secret, so intimate and true, Sprouting in her womb blossoms of delight. Though they are together, he feels all alone, Trapped in turbulence of memories unkind, Nothing she can say would emotions atone Grief of matrimony he chose to leave behind. Agitating unspoken, dissonant pulse of strife His turmoiled heartbeats now brutally amplify Frightened by weary past to embrace a new-life When spiteful bonds of yore earnestly decry. She tries, yet decides, now is not the time Waiting till moon and stars are so inclined To witness with Venus, dear-moment sublime And unveil the script that destiny designed. Clenched clandestine vibes utter a soft sigh As happily her stomach churns butterflies; And, until next-time, she bids him goodbye, When they’ll guess the color of baby’s eyes. Vulnerable she feels now, how will he react: Will he welcome baby, yet harp in the past? Will he face with courage or opt to retract? Convulsed, she shudders~ will this love last? what a sad and poignant poem, Vijay. The images you used created the tone necessary for your poem. You captured the situation and subsequent feelings quite well. Nicely done. Sara

Disappointed love is quite sad, yet sometimes it's not meant to be. Your elegant poem, with its beautiful imagery, makes the point very well.

Hi Vijay, I don't know how I managed to miss this one. Having a role in the hay without love is meaningless if one desires a loving relationship. Congratulations on a well-deserved win. Have a great weekend my friend-Alexis

One of the terrible possibilities when sex is put ahead of love and committment. Your rhymes were perfect and the imagery was enjoyable. As a reader I felt the emotions on both sides and felt sorry for he and her, for decisions must be made because they didn't wait for love and committment. Congrats on the win my friend! Have a great week! Bill

Vijay, powerful emotions portrayed for both people - uncertainly, fear, anguish - at a time that should be one of joyful anticipation. Angst so well expressed in your marvelous style. Congratulations on your win! Blessings.

When love, before it matures, leads to sex, this can happen. She is worried if her lover will accept the fact that his child is growing inside her and if he will be ready to stabilize their relationship. However she carries this intimate truth with her waiting for the opportune time to explode the news. The uncertainty and tension she experiences are powerfully conveyed. Congratulations Vijay on your well deserved first place win.

This happens more often than it should. So sad, indeed. So many are afraid to embrace the next journey, after feeling those butterflies and having intimate relations. This is tender and emotional, all at the same time. Your thoughts caress gently around me and my heart. Hugs, Brandy

Vijay, your poem is amazing, and the issue is important. Many modern-day young women are eager to break the stigma against having sexual experiences outside of marriage. The day they get those butterflies in their stomachs. Nearly all lads will back out at that point. Still pining for a single life but terrified of commitment. Good luck with the contest

A situation you often hear about Vijay, What is it about parenthood that scares some fathers to be? Are they still longing for the bachelor life and afraid to settle down. Best of luck in the contest Tom
