Notes About The Poem

International Space Station

Orbiting earth, a man made creation
It looks like a moving star shining bright
It's the international space station
Big as a football field; an awesome sight
Orbits the earth sixteen times day and night
Launched in November nineteen ninety eight
A huge four hundred and fifty ton weight
Six men and women form the stations crew
Always a concern it may gravitate
So orbital height they have to review.

Thank you David, I read that every now and again they have to raise it higher Into orbit to prevent that from happening, I remember when skylab did just that. Tom

Tom, you always pick such unique and innovative themes for your poem. I really like this one. It just flows with your creativity. Really like the last line - our orbits in life we all "have to review." Congratulations and blessings dear friend. Over Fork Over.

Thank you Sam. I was a bit restricted as I could only use ten lines, there's so much more I could have wrote, found that form a bit tricky too. Over Fork Over. Tom

It’s amazing how it stays in place. Unfortunately one day it will come back to earth. They may wish at that point that they didn’t add so many rooms.

I read Jan's comment. Don't worry. The viruses can be made here on earth but we deny where it came from. Don't want to be xenophobic!)))) Not sure a virus can even exist in outer space. A magnificent thing the space station is. We will learn a lot from their studies...)) Great poem Panagiota xoxo Best wishes, as well..you go, Tom

Tom~ just about anything or anyone can do us in. I really am convinced fear is fun. We can huddle together waiting for the boogeyman. Today's fears are laughable compared to what lies ahead. Like a dark sun and stars crashing to th earth. Unfortunately, most of humanity does not know this? No, they do not. PR

Thank you Panagiota, saw a film where there was a virus in space and it grew and came to earth, the name escapes me. It's awesome to see, the original was quite small but they kept adding to it. Tom
