Instead

On television movie "Dirty Dancing" again To tell honest truth I felt warm after glow This looked like a fun thing to do from where I stood I thought and on my "Bucket List" it will go But when I moved from my sitting stance_no_no way Even though this "Dirty Dancing" fanned my flame At my age just don't have youthful energy left I will just have to pen a "Bucket List" by name A very long list of fun things before life's end Seek map and then go down a never travelled road Go on a surrey ride to hear the horses' hoofs Would that my love and I for horse not be heavy In a hot air balloon basket flow on warm air Only so many years_go to states not been in No longer sit at home breath very deeply sigh I'll be able to tell generations where been No longer sit home and watch each and every leaf My life wil move now as if it was set on fire Skateboarding looks like so much fun_might fall and break arm Join circus learn to perform by walking high wire When I look at my "Bucket List" I get so sad Like New Year Resolutions that I never kept Need a new list of very achievable things When I seriously thought about this I just wept..

ahhh, sad one, Sara, just revise that bucket list and make it easy stuff that is still fun, like maybe being toted in a rickshaw in China! Cute poem. LUv, Andrea

long live the buket list. during my childhood i was never allowed to use the word "can't." my father would say that word is invented for lazy people. therefore, i was raised to try everything (with in reason, of course) i wanted. did the same for my kids. Go for it, put whatever you want on your list and do it, and enjoy your life. there is no death penalty for failure - only joy in the effort.

How about bunji jumping (spelling?) "Achievable things?" The list gets so short as I get older and older and older. Good write. My hip replacement was complete. the cartilage was completely eaten away by arthritis. After 10 years or more I still walk normally. Good doctor. I'm 81. LOve, Dave

Just yesterday I was realizing I need to revise my bucket list as I get older, Sara. The aspirations we once had are no longer achievable. But don't let go of all these dreams, dear. Some will certainly be accomplished during your lifetime. Beautifully written, dear, and it gives the reader much to ponder. Love and blessings for you and your family, Carolyn

Sara, sometimes we make these lists but as time goes on they do change and the frustration that goes with on inability to do certain things can bring us to tears.. Beautiful write

Hello Sara, I enjoyed your poem "Instead" very much and smiled as I read the lines. I have often thought of a "Bucket List" However, mine is just very mundane. Perhaps, make a return visit to places once enjoyed. At least the wife and I can still travel some. Anyway, please do not cry over such a list, these are the "Go;den Years" so they say. Take care and stay safe. See I have forgotten what else I wanted to say, Carpe Diem, Jancarl (Happy 20110

At each age, we must create a new bucket list, to achieve only the things we are still capable of....and yes...it may make us weep to face our limitations. Good one Sara!!

There are so many things I want to do, but I just can't find the time to do them. Good writing with descriptiveness and rhyming.
