"You can never cross the ocean until
You have the courage to lose sight
Of the shore". Christopher Columbus

There are things I have done and places
I have gone that I don't know that I would
do and go again. I'm referring to good things
Done and dangerous places gone.

From 1968-1972, I was a college student
in Chicago preparing for Christian ministry.
The faith and confidence exercised by me
On the streets of Chicago's West And South
Sides in the late 60's and early 70's, was
Indeed a 'God Thing'. I don't believe that I
Could do it again.

Indeed, my young life back then and there
Could best be described by the words of
Christopher Columbus. "You can never cross
The ocean until you have the courage to lose
Sight of the shore". Sometimes, looking back,
I say to myself, "Did I do that? Did I go there?
Surely, I walked on those dangerous gang and
Drug infested streets, but God protected me.
With heart-felt memories, I must honestly say,
Surely, that was then, and this is now.

Again, looking back, I can express or share a
Phrase of my own that well describes the
Path of my life. "May the tracts of your past
Reveal a forward mobility".
