Notes About The Poem

Insomnia

The moon is restless
roaming in and out of clouds-
Intermittent stars
Motions above and below
through eternal sleepless night

Shunning saffron days
night owls and fireflies revel
to nightingale's song
Wide awake blooms gaze at moon-
The wind's everywhere at once

Sound like someone tossing and turning. very imaginative. Next step... counting sheep. Have a great day my friend.

Counting backwards from 100 may induce drowsiness too. Thank you for your thoughts. Hope your evening is a nice one, Evelyn :)

Yes reads like a restless night, Evelyn, yet the dream is beautiful.

Great imagery and feel. You've been standing outside at night I see; the clouds like ships in the night covering the moon as they float by , as the mockingbirds sing their flirtatious songs. The owls alert for passing food. Oh, and that cool breeze in the night to refresh the days heat... I do this every night and I love that moment of quietness .

I completely agree, Eve. Often nighttime is just the right time. Thank you very much. :)
