The tumultuous pain needing release Sending chimes upon my brain increase Insidious beeping And always creeping… Of nurses--shoving needles on my crease Russell Sivey

Ouch Russell your poem made me wince and smile at the same time... but if the needles help you with the pain relief its a small price to pay. I USED to have needle phobia but have beaten this recently by having chocolate to eat whilst they are doing it and having a bottle of water to drink - has worked for me the last 5 bloodtests and i went for one on my own for the first time in over 20 years!:-) hugs Jan xx
