Inside Her Mind

Her eyes closed against her will, she stood still, briefly, then she fought, moving the fight inward, where it had always been, there she would win and win again, she had fought her abusive husband and survived, it’s what kept her going, and kept her alive, she did fight, every night, but inside her mind, until she couldn’t fight no more, he woke up to her noise, and she was still sleeping on the floor.
