Innocence
The world is full of words
plastered on everyone
Their stories patched
and glued together
like papier mache
Meanings are lost in the architecture
of tears and lies and the artificial
Neural pathways that are marked
for sale and lit up singular
the viral overtakes us
Stories are blown up
and blown away
The innocents look on
with love and trusting eyes
unaware in the dream
of the swift change in seasons
and the strange Winter upon us
Innocence
of the forgotten and the brave
lost in the architecture
of tears and lies and the artificial
that marked our neural pathways
Candide Diderot. ‘26
