Inner Voice of Poetry

Poetry determines its own form the Anatomy of heartfelt expression Sort of like, God choosing Moses who objected for his stutter: “Surely, Lord, would not my brother (Cecil, the English Major) be a wiser choice, of far sturdier mind; and solid, commanding voice?” As with poetry, if a poem destined “To Be!” let then Living Words and not a penning prophet alone determine whether presentation sonnet or free....

Hi Joe; thank you my friend. Some of the best things, often seem to just happen, with little of our own intention and tinkering. Blessings.

I see the inescapable novelty in your thoughts and presentation and always admire it, Joe. You are absolutely right in your point. It is a poet who should decide what form suits his verse. An imposed form restricts his free flow of thoughts like that of of a strutterer. I always prefer free verse. Great penning dear friend.

Thank you, Valsa; I recall the great words of a minor poet, whose name at the moment escapes me: "To thine own self be true..." Blessings my friend.

A common mistake made by me, attempting to read the bible from the inside out. God known by more than one name...but always One God to us. Blessings my friend.

I agree Joe, restrictive forms of poetry to me are like brain teasers, a challenge, but when I want to write a meaningful poem from within me, a have to let the words chose what form they fall into, and its always rhyme and once in a while free verse. These forms may not be the obvious choice among others (boring and mundane, as a stutterer) They are the choice of my words. (as was Moses) Loved your poem. Your ideas are always fresh and your poems always have true mastery.

Hi Wen; I believe, that as writers (want to be, whatever!) we are naturally fond of words and form. But, in final analysis, it is truth, honesty of spirit, and loving intention to share and help further define evolving self in relationship to greater humanity and creation as a whole, that determines the value or fate of any write. Abstract art a perfect example.

This beautiful poem's message is well conveyed, Joe. I can't imagine anyone better suited for his divine role than Moses. :)

Thank you, Evelyn; it may have been his brother Aaron and not the lesser known, Cecil:) Blessings my friend. If God does not have a sense of humor, I am in trouble.
