Notes About The Poem

She achieved worldwide fame during the silent and golden eras of Hollywood and European film for her tragedienne and femme fatale roles.  ~Photo of my chess game.

Inhale Exhale

At times we’re forced to grin and bare it,
but then again if the shoe fits, wear it—Quote by poet

Inhalation/Exhalation

Breathe in, arms above my head, a salutation to the sun
breathe out, and Namaste` and blessings to everyone
Kalidasa’s prayer, “Please subdue the anguish of your soul,
nobody is destined to only happiness or to pain,
the wheel of life takes one up and down in turn”
Why then do I still feel like screaming into the void?
It’s always something else which has me annoyed
Coaxing adherents into haters then blithely cleansing one’s hands,
so lost loyal allies fall prey to their shepherds demands
My evil muse is not amused

Hey Anaya, Your closing line, "My evil muse is not amused," leaves a lingering sense of irony and perhaps a touch of dark humour. It suggests that even the source of inspiration, the muse, can be resistant or disapproving in the face of the poet's conflicted emotions. Overall, the poem artfully combines elements of spirituality, philosophy, and personal reflection, inviting readers to contemplate the complexities of life, relationships, and the internal struggle for peace amid chaos.

What a great quote Anaya, and a poem to match, I think we all have our moments of screaming into the void, it’s there isn’t it, just when we don’t want it to be, I’m not very familiar with Kalidasa, but I still get the essence of the wording, I think Dilly will like this one, all the best for contest, love the artistic layout in the pics too, cheers David

Oh, this is a thought-provoking and deeply insightful write dear Anaya, how impeccably you've highlighted that the wheel of fate keeps turning around, also, incorporating that beautiful saying by Kalidasa. You are really a soulful person and that is so evident in your poems, I really like both the essence of your words here & also, the pictures that you've shared, they are meaningful.."So lost loyal allies fall prey to their shepherds demands" That conveys a lot about how time changes everything

Some cry loudest at their defeats and some at their successes, as you say the spinning wheel of life dishes out both to everyone at some time. Even loyal allies aren't always as staunch as hoped for at times. BTW I hope she is placing that rook down because that castle isn't moving anywhere right now. Loved the image of failed attempts and ESPESIALLY loved your free verse poem !

Haha, first I have to say that it's me, I found a missing piece to my chess game. I just took that photo today! Yep the castle, also commonly referred to as the rook, is one of the most important pieces. It is involved in the strategic move called castling...hence why I'm holding the missing piece. The crumpled-up poems I'm throwing in the basket...resembles throwing down the mic! Hope all is well with you, my bestie, our Linda being first of course, lol. btw, "Doggy Limerick Circus" is now published...here is the link: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/doggy-limerick-circus-robert-gorelick/1144643830?

Bravo, Anaya! I derive great pleasure from your poetic verses on inhaling deeply, raising arms towards the heavens in a sun salutation. Alas, even the most devoted allies succumb to the manipulative commands of their leaders. My wicked muse finds much amusement in this poem.
