Individual Rights

A war on individual rights
     is brewing in the U.S. of A.
Seems a woman has no control
     over her body as of today
And how many more personal intrusions
     are headed our way?
Seems we concerned poets ought
     to be broadcasting our say!

One ideological group is taking advantage
     of its political clout
Bandying all sorts of crazy
     conspiracy theories and ideas about,
Creating chaos in our schools
     over imaginary fears they spout --
Seems they ought to find something
     better to do than shout.

Bill Baker May 7, 2022 at 1:30 PM As with most wisdom, it's not what a person says that's so important. It is why they are saying it, with what intent. With all the propaganda and lying going on in the world today, Individual that want to be responsible may have to learn to think, say, and act on their own. If on lives on an island alone, do and say whatever they like. If other people are involved, we must learn to be civil and consider the effect of what we do or say on all others concerned. I was just expressing my consternation, which I am wont to do now and then. I try my best to ignore what's going on, because most of it, and most of the decisions made, will never apply to me.

There has been so many minute communal issues that have now grown to be a big one including corruption, discrimination and individual rights. The one with power puppets everyone below... There's a new book out I want to read on the Washington, D.C. culture which suggests that our politicians are saying one thing in private and another in public...of course, what else is new?

I don't think that writing about it, reading about it, talking about it, protesting it, etc. will change one single mind... For me it is, therefore, a subject from which to stay away... I just wanted to say my bit for the benefit of those who are so deeply incensed by the SCOTUS leak. Frankly, as it comes down to me personally, it's not of great importance. But, I don't want to see women going back to clothes hanger days!

PBS News blamed Trump for turning American attitudes from "melting pot" to "us against them", but we see on Soup that the Force is always with us but everyone wants to change its direction! Aloha!
