Notes About The Poem

“Welcome To The Mystically Beautiful World Of Your Nightmares”: The Superb Digital Art By Stefan Koidl

- In the World of the Dead -

The demons of the night have doubled
the unsaved are simply in terrible trouble
Moist mist, death, stinky rats and ash
Haunting malicious, they come in a blinding flash
Shadows of human beings as dark silhouettes
you're so close, I can smell your cigarette
A living nightmare or just ugly makeup
even the cat that slept on a velvet pillow wakes up

Wonderful eerie images, Anne-Lise. Your cigarette reference reminds me of a chandelier my cousins bought in New Orleans. Every so often they would smell cigarette smoke and cheap perfume in the dining room until one day told the "spirit" to go down to the French market where it belonged. Never happened again! Congratulations on your win!

"A living nightmare or just ugly makeup". I like that line. LOL..There are real demons out there who wish to do you harm and lead you the wrong way. Reads like a good contender for the contest. I like the last line also. Thanks for stopping by my page. Sara
