Will Will
it consist we arrive
of gates of pearl with loud blast
and gold-paved streets, of trumpet fanfare,
or forests or tiptoe in
lush, and silently, as
crystalline the waking
streams? of dreams?
Will Will
we look we recall
like heavenly all the memories
beings imagined by we formed on earth
artists: with wings, white or only the
robes, gold idyllic ones
harps, and or will they
cherub face? be erased?
Will Will
we be there be
young, wise food to taste,
strong, beautiful, sunsets to watch,
tall, short, dark, pale, oceans to paddle in,
or simply or will we
invisible, enjoy only
spiritual brand new
beings? pleasures?
Will Will
we meet we be
history's saints able to walk
and ask them all our and talk with God
many, various questions, as we would a friend?
What did He Or will we
look like? reverently
Was His a bow in awe
kind face? of a King?
Will Will
there be there be
any yesterday, no tears, thirst,
today or tomorrow, mourning, pain, war,
5 minutes from now, or death, night, or hunger?
a week from next Tuesday, Will I have faith to believe?
or will time I don't know
as we know the answers
it be made to all these
obsolete? questions...
But I have heard of One who knows -
to heaven's glorious throne he rose.
May I dwell there in unstained clothes
in the house of the Lord forever.
"Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23:6)
