In the Cards, In the Sky
For most, the world---and love---are but a game
The sport and profit dominate man's minds
The rules suggest to seek out different kinds
But me, I seek a card whose heart's the same
We are but planets trodding through the nights
About our universe a time or nine
In circles 'round, but with a path divine?
Or destiny amid these divers lights?
They pluck a ruby diamond from the sky
Or, others, from arm's reach, to stay inert
All smile upon it, no need to exert
My lifelong orbit's brought no diamonds nigh
A pair of hearts completes my hand fully
Because our suits become us naturally
