In the Car
I like the silence
I am comfortable with me
In my mind there is nothing to fear,
Only kingdoms to conquer.
My mind may race in quiet violence
But what else can it do or be?
It won’t slow or stall, just let me steer.
It exists for me to conquer.
So I guide or at least in my eye’s lens
Control isn’t mine perfectly, constantly
When the ugly head rears, it becomes clear, mild fear
But I thought…I..was to conquer?
I was swallowed by, but also am, this silence
Of course I can comfort me
Though I am startled, quickly I dispel the fear
Because even defeated, I will conquer.
I like the silence.
My mind may race in quiet violence.
So I guide, or at least in my eye’s lens.
I was swallowed by, but also am, this silence.
I am comfortable with me.
But what else can it do or be?
Control isn’t mine perfectly, constantly.
Of course I can comfort me.
In my mind there is nothing to fear.
It won’t slow or stall, just let me steer.
When the ugly head rears, it becomes clear, mild fear.
Though I am startled, quickly I dispel the fear.
Only kingdoms for me to conquer!
It exists for me to conquer!
But I thought…I…was to conquer?
Because even defeated, I will conquer.
I like the silence.
All I mean to say is in my ride
Every now and again music is fine
All I mean to say is I needn’t hide.
I just enjoy my ever-quietly-racing mind.
