In the Back Seat

I sat there with you In the back seat. You began to speak As I looked out the window. Saw the wind and rain beat against the trees. Why say anything at all? Even at this time, When the world has fallen You say stupid things... Many things. (sigh) I wish it was quiet for just Awhile. Maybe you'd face all the pain. Your denial. These moments in the back seat of this black car, Are years of dreadful pain Can't wait til the hours pass And I am in my room Where you are not. Such a day, will I not forget, As I sat there with you In the back seat Exclaiming your reasons Justifying your guilt Your heart stiff As stone. The day you change, Will be the day I sit in the back seat with you, alone.
