In Place of That
In place of being annoyed
By trifling matters,
Move on from it
Make some small chatter.
In place of thinking about
What you don't have,
Think about all that is given to you
From the giver's behalf.
In place of comparing yourself
To him or to her,
Find a trait so unique about yourself
That to you they must refer.
In place of thinking that
Life is too hard,
Think of it as a playing field
Controlled by fifty two cards.
Laugh like there's no tomorrow.
Be happy for no reason.
Find beauty in the ugliest of things-
Trust me, that's no treason.
Because if you're happy for a reason,
That reason can be taken away.
But if find the positive side to "instead"
Then you'll never be astray.
