In Pen

It's okay to vent your fears,
but there's no need to shout.
Writing your anger smears,
clearing those temper demons out.

It's okay to hide in your bed away
but depression is lurking in the dark.
It would be better to give your pen the sway
and jot your feeling down at the park.

It's okay to stomp your foot in rage,
but maybe your foot and leg will be sore.
It would be so much better for ink to engage
as opposed to getting leg pain from the floor.

When emotions upset your hour,
writing down your thoughts brings power!

this is SO true and I like how down to earth you made your sonnet here.

It is fantastic to write, and I had to find a cute way to express it. Don't misunderstand, I've had the privilege of swinging a sledgehammer and that was very therapeutic.
