In Need of Clones

None so weary as the hard-working man Moving as much dirt as he possibly can, His wife does her share of shoveling, too They’ve bit off more than they can chew, Both need some rest from the daily grind But it seems reliable help is hard to find, They work their fingers bare to the bone Too bad they each do not have a clone. You can say this again " reliable help is hard to find,"

That is so true, Caren. Employers tell me that all the time. My farmer friend has a terrible time finding help for the farm.

I can't imagine having a clone of myself! God forbid. One of me is enough – in this universe or in a parallel one! / Maurice

Ah, I wouldn't say that, Maurice. I'd think we could use several more with your talents...and your humor...and your skepticism!

L Milton this poem truly struck a chord with my funny bone & true belief. I'm a retired US postal worker. I would have loved to have been cloned. But I was half "cloned"... I worked on a FSM 100. A flat sorting machine. Automated. Not DNA related to me BUT was an extension jajaja. Thanks for this poem..

It is hard to find that kind of quality and determination in some folks Milton. Yesteryear was full of hardworking men and women, there are a few still today but it is a rare to find that level of commitment in a worker. I can honestly say I have worked my rear end off in my lifetime. My father instilled that in me. Donated many hours to Habitate for Humanity in building homes for the disadvantaged. There is always something Milton when you own a home. It never ends. I hope you can relax now...

You are so right on, Michael. A homeowner's work is never done. Thanks for the thoughtful comments on my poem.

Wow, Milt… you’ve just epitomised our life in our current house. We love it here… but the work, on both house and grounds, is non stop. Love it. Terry

Terry, that's exactly how Deb and I felt when we purchased a Bed & Breakfast! Thanks for your comment. Best wishes!

If they only had some grands, They could lend the helping hands

That is so true, Jeff. We finally turned to our nephew and niece who said they wanted a Bed & Breakfast. Their enthusiasm didn't last long!
