I feel I share some traits of your mother, taking care of pets, cleaning and feeding them. Also looking after my garden plants and vegetables, especially after my retirement. Being bred in a village I used to watch my mother doing all these. Despite being in a city, it is great that your mother did all these.....! Your tender love for your mother is well revealed!

Until you love an animal, you have only half a soul~~ astounding line. Pangie Your world then, sounds like my world now.))) Especially with my cat, Irene... We are soul sisters.** In my childhood, was a parakeet who loved bein on the table. Your poem is wonderful. Hugs, Panagiota xxx

Such tender and sensitive writing. I married a Farm-girl -- also Air Force and a mystic. Hit the jackpot. I still tend to the cats, litter boxes and feeding, before I have my coffee. Fill the outside birdbath (113 in Phoenix yesterday). I would feel guilty if not. "the wandering cocatiel politeness demands a share"-- great image!

Hello Timothy Ray, which ice cream belongs to the dogs? Interesting. On the farm is the business to fed the animals. In the city mothers feed their children. Enjoy your evening my friend.

Mother's world is uniquely charming--especially to the life in city. Excellent depiction, Timothy.

now there will be those who tell you she assisted the school master and how wonderful a volunteer she was....but let me give you an into why....to keep an eye on me because her son was intelligent and precocious (one girl added obnoxious at the reunion), unaware of the social norms, behaves largely according to his instincts, both shocking and charming and always had a book in his face

she did have her unique qualities but we lived in a neighborhood where we kids walked to church-run school and i can assure you my mother's ways were the commonality in the community...go to New York City and you can find boutiques for animals, go to where i lived in Mexico and see pampering and the city warn not to let pets out certain nights as they put out poison meats....in a roundabout way we do too...but the importance is how you are raised
