In London Town Pt Four

Seraphine, thy heart is good
For I have loved thee as I should
And should I choose to love thee more
I could not know or think what for

For truly I have loved thee best
And fought to save thy tender rest
My tiny angel of the dusk
Who lost her wings but grew a tusk

My wish for you, my little star
Is that you stay the way you are
The kinder soul that people seek
To heal the pain that makes us weak

Remember too, the needy poor
By keeping less, and giving more
To build a world, with God’s own light
Where every soul, is loved on sight

Your gentle heart is good and true
And so my joy is full in you
For you have made my life complete
By all the ways you made it sweet

Your love is kind to me each day
And so my fight would be to stay
But someone near is calling me
To take me home, where I must be

And from that mansion on a hill
My love for you will be there still
To hold you deep within my heart
As we grow near and not apart

In this old house, where love was lost
Your Grandma paid a heavy cost
For she is lonely, letters say
By how she pushed us both away

Your future here is bright indeed
With Grandma's love to be your lead
The plans you make will all come true
Because you love them as you do

And so my spirit, borne of wings
Will fly me to those fertile springs
Where endlessly the sky is blue
And all my dreams are dreams of you.
