In Hope Forever Bound

What hope is there when the view we have is sadness all around
On sleepless nights, we toss and turn when troubles bring us down
And yet, behold - as morning comes and nighttime fades away
There is hope again; it's rising with the Son another day

When things have turned against us, our face a permanent frown
No sunny days to greet us, only darkness can be found
But look a little closer - hear the children laugh and play
It lifts our hearts; it helps our souls to face a new today

At times it seems there is no help when hard times come to you
All hope is lost; we think we have no one to help us through
It's then that we remember, though it seems we're on our own
He is always right here with us and we'll never be alone

Christ made a promise to us - He wrote it in His Word
That promise stands forever - He sealed it with His Blood
He said we're more than conquerors in what we're called to do
No matter what the trial in life, His love will carry us through

There are issues that arise to give our fears a standing place
We humble ourselves and lift our prayers, no matter what we face
There's no trial or tribulation that will ever keep us down
For in Faith we are victorious and in Hope forever bound

Neva, I agree - "in Faith we are victorious and in Hope forever bound." Hope does mercifully bind us to the Son. This is a beautiful testimony to the power of hope. Congratulations on your win. Sending you blessings of abiding hope.

Neva, congratulations on your win. I am so reminded of the scripture that speaks of weeping at midnight but joy in the morning. Sending you blessings of hope and joy in Jesus' victory.

Your poem uplifted my spirits this morning after a sleepless night. My stepson is in the hospital with a long recovery from an aneurysm and strokes. He is 54. I think I wasn’t sleeping well because I am worried about him. I am going to text him your third stanza which I know will comfort him. Thank you for this inspirational poem. Congratulations on First Place! Blessings xxoo
