In Honor of Joe, My Soul Mate

A holy union betwixt you and I.
Matched up by angels, prebirth.
Destined prior to parental selection.
Knowing why we were put on Earth at the same times.
Soulmates.

Our sacred union was endorsed by the Heavenly elves.
The faeries, and the nymphs laughed, understanding more fully.
In sync, we can sit for hours, not moving, not talking.
And laugh at the same time.
We are sometimes redundant, you and I.
Soulmates.

Thank you, Line. When I was in first grade and Joe was in 2nd grade, we had a split classroom, taught by Miss Kneeland, who also was the principal. He kissed me and we got in trouble, and he said, "It's okay, Miss Kneeland, because when I grow up I'm going to MARRY her," making me instantly into an angry, raging lunatic of pure meanness. It took me awhile to get over that. I wasn't going to marry anybody except my Daddy. I still remember.

wow, Caren. this is so nice!! I can't say that MY Joe is my soul mate( He is too much of Mars and I too much from Venus). However, lookie there, we both have spouses with the same name!! Thanks for your recent comments on my poems. I really enjoyed reading them! I was having fun with Aphrodite and I think you may have been the only one to read my note.

Thank you, Andrea. I know we have a lot more in common that the Joe's. Warm regards!
