In Flower Fields

The moon a shawl over her shoulders almost replacing his arms'embrace, In her wine-glass pools of light floating reflect the glow upon his face. His deep-set eyes like summer ripples carry her thought to tulip fields Recalling sunsets when she first saw him far from the city's unwinding streets. Next to the old mill on a soft blanket, patchworked from grass and falling leaves, Its there He whispered hundred sweet nothings The air was filled with a fragrant breeze. Throughout this night She wanders lonely Far from dry lands to evergreens, Sailing alone above blue waters to meet the author who built her dreams.

A romantic, indeed. For whatever reason, rhyme has always been easier for me, but I believe I’ll refer to your wonderfully descriptive free verse for inspiration; after all, I studied free verse—and taught free verse, I should certainly be able to write it. And kudos for your masterful use of imagery!

Charmaine! This is lovely. You are the person who inspired me to write. It was over a year ago when I first read you. I started to be a Souper five months ago. Your poetry always touches my heart. Thank you for yet another dazzling gem of your artistry. Panagiota Romios
