In Deep Sorrow
With three bullets in my chest
You thought I wouldn’t live on
In shock your heartbeats calmed
You died, but I survived.
War is over, but each day I battle life
How shall I live without you?
You were my hope and my dream
Now all I have is emptiness.
Buried are you, but not your love
It shall live in my memories
My heart now bruises with regrets
Certain things shall remain unsaid.
As I close my eyes to feel you
Tears descend to rest on your tomb
While winds whisper your name
Life without you will not be same.
To honour your life and love for me
I leave flowers on cold stone
And as I walk away from you
In deep sorrow, I keep looking behind.
For sure, our souls shall unite
The day we meet in unknown land.
