when autumn leaves turn to gold
and our sun's ardor turns to cool
my heart finds deep peace and joy
in appreciation of life's universal cycles
of birth through youth to growth and wisdom
eventually all living things
give in to slumber to await renewal
such is the perpetual cosmic motion
of life to death to glorious rebirth
before our eyes at times beautiful and graceful
ever constant the intergalactic waves furl and unfurl
