In an Instant

In an Instant 1-23-25 Contest by Craig Cornish
“It is finished!”  John 19:30
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In an Instant
Eternity winks in a breath -
Eden wakes from exile –
Seconds split into bits of past and present.
Darkness evaporates – winter and midnight only memories -
As hidden fountains of mercy burst through parched crusts
In places where wild things think they reign.
Time blinks
Eons align, pirouette to partner with change
Space between sin and salvation vanishes,
A fog swept away by infinity.
Black turns to white – blindness to clarity –
In the unconditional – the thunder of revelation.
Wax gods melt into puddles in valleys raised
Where shame tries to strangle angels -
Undressed, riddles and enigmas open mysteries.
Pulled back from pools of fire in Armageddon
Life struts out of separation!
Majesty buries iron rods, chariots and tombs -
As shadows evaporate, chaos rests in resolution
Now steps into know!  “It is finished!”
Dear Sam, I really love your line: "Eons align, pirouette to partner with change." The distance between sin and salvation vanishes, like a fog swept away by infinity. The distance between redemption and sin disappears, like a mist carried by the boundless expanse. It is quite profound and heavenly. You have a magic pen. Please accept my sincere congratulations on your excellent win.
Quite profound..... dear Sam. What all changes took place in an instant. Eden woke from exile, darkness evaporated, space between sin and salvation vanished, black turned to white and blindness changed to clarity. Humanity will be spared in the battle of Armageddon, all because of the sacrificial Lamb who killed himself for the sins of mankind. So very deep and divine. Your pen is magical. You stand head and shoulders above many of us. All the Best, sweet friend.
Hi Ish! So wonderful to get your beautiful message. Thank you! After giving this theme some thought I couldn't write on anything but that pivotal instant in history when everything changed. Have to give God the credit, and the glory, for this poem. Thank you for your blessings! I look forward to reading more of your work. Sending you warm blessings in this season of cold and ice.
Very evocative of bringing the light of belief out of the darkness, I especially like your line 'wax gods melt into puddles' - speaks to me of the lack of substance of the temporary~
Dear Sam, As I read eacg line I thought how your words thunder with divine intensity, painting a blinding clash of chaos and redemption. The uniquness was that each line pulsed with revelation and majesty, carrying the weight of eternity itself. Sam, this is a masterpiece of profound transformation—stunning work. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
Dear Daniel, I am so grateful for your amazing feedback. Thank you, dear friend. It is a joy to share these moments of faith with you! Indeed, those words from the cross thundered in the transformative power of eons and prophecy aligning - the big bang of redemption! Wasn't sure how to flesh out this theme but once I got the first line everything fell into place. Sending you warm, winter blessings and my gratitude.
What a most powerful write this is dear samszy, its so good to read you after a long time and i must highlight the soulful nature of your poem, depicting timelessness, highlighting so much of life and existence in such a profound manner: i really love the lines "Space between sin and salvation vanishes, A fog swept away by infinity. Black turns to white – blindness to clarity – In the unconditional – the thunder of revelation." Yes eventually it all comes to an eternal light and clarity. Pleasure reading you today! Dearest Inky! Many thanks, my friend, for your perceptive reading of this poem going to to very heart and soul of that "instant" when God and man reunited - the most powerful and impactful second in all history - when Jesus uttered those words from the cross - "It is finished!" Truly not an end but the start of life transcendent. I am so grateful for your beautiful feedback! It means a lot to me. Sending you blessings of life and renewal! Samzy~
