Notes About The Poem

A reproduction of this Degas painting hung in my aunt's ballet studio sparking my love from Impressionism

IMPRESSIONISM

In hush-washed strokes, light barely brushes form,
In pale, passing glimmers, colors sigh into being,
In softened shimmer, boundaries loosen into air,
In quiet currents of pigment, the moment breathes,
In muted murmurs of blue and gold, time thins,
In air-light touches, the world blurs toward wonder,
In each trembling instant, artist’s eye softens into seeing.

How lovely the painting and the poem! By putting "In" before each line, you are enhancing the impression that you are trying to achieve.

I prefer the old realistic paintings I saw at the Louvre long ago but I really like some of the impressionistic artists. They are sure better than artists like Picasso. Beautiful words here

Very nice imagery, Sara; I do favor impressionism over other art forms. When I lived in New York, spent a lot of time in the museums. When I saw Van Gogh's baby I actually felt physically ill. Quite a painting.

Beautiful ekphrasis and you managed to ace the Pleiades form at the same time. Love the personal detail in A/N. Brilliant. Added to my FAVE's.

wonderful, like an impressionist poem, with subtle touches, love museums a lot, but when traveling, only a little one in my city, wishes
