Immortal Soul

How did life begin?
Is there life after death?
Are we conscious within?
After we draw that last breath

Is there life after death?
When from this world we depart
After we draw that last breath
After the last beat of the heart

When from this world we depart
Where do all the dead go?
After the last beat of the heart
Perhaps we may never know

Where do all the dead go?
When they disappear out of sight
Perhaps we may never know
To lands distant and bright

When they disappear out of sight
Perhaps dwelling in eternal light
To lands distant and bright
The soul’s journey, in eternal flight

Perhaps dwelling in eternal light
Are we conscious within?
The soul’s journey , in eternal flight
How did life begin?

A difficult form, in my opinion, but you have done it justice. Thank you for reading the Dog and the Shrink. Best to you in your writing endeavors. / M

Hello, Nandita, so much to ponder on. I like what you did, you began and ended the poem with the same statement. I wonder if in the after life, we are still searching for answers. A high 7. Hugs... Linda

You have written about this quest for truth is such a compelling way, dear. We all have our own beliefs about what happens. My beliefs bring me comfort. This poem has a ray of light and hope there in that last stanza as well. Lovely

Thank you. I don't know what is true but these are just my thoughts. Not beliefs. Imaginary. Not reality. Thank you for your nice thoughts on this.

Brilliant creation. As per hindu mythology there is life after death. I don't know whether it is true or not, but your presentation is very nice......with love`~7~.
