Notes About The Poem

Immortal Autumn

Immortal Autumn

Golden rays of light on fall trees
rustling seasonal memories

Tangled leaves of Autumn hues
fade to russet, turn to brown
lingering -longing to stay
falling into spring

I like this tribute to autumn. It's a reminder; I have to clean up that mess of pine cones that are still on the sidewalk.

Hi Joe:Thanks for checking in. I have a bad cough at the moment. You know……winter chill. Autumn seems to be the favored child with me. Thanks for the kind words to warm my evening. Best to you, SuZ

Beautiful reflection on the stunning scenes of autumn, SuZ! Have to admit autumn does leave a beautiful impression on me even though I have a hard time letting go of summer! Hope you continue to get back to normal after Helene's unwelcome visit! Blessings and hugs! Wonderful to see you posting again!

Thanks for your lovely visit and comment, Paula, I have asked my Muse why but only an occasional glimmer mostly - mostly in the fall. LOL

Dear Suzanne, I love Autumn. It’s not just about leaves, is it? It’s about memory, about the beauty that doesn’t want to leave. Fall sometimes feels like a soft goodbye that doesn’t quite end. Such a moment where time folds in on itself falling into spring, like grief into hope. Autumn Blessings, Dear Suzanne, Daniel

Daniel, What a wonderful connection you have to the feelings of Autumn. You said it much better than I could have. Thanks for your insightful comment.
