Imagine
“My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Psalm 45:1 of the King James Bible
Imagination is the pursuit of my poetic mind and heart
governing muse direction at the very start
against attacking distraction-dart.
I’m challenged indeed to imagine what is sensible
challenging me to be graciously responsible
with a task that’s influentially noble.
Since writing endeavours do create varied impact
I’m propelled to imagine with prudence and tact
striving to blend style, faith and fact.
Having communication as foremost role
my poems seek to engage with reader’s soul
through images made vivid for a significant goal.
As I imagine my subjects’ choice
whether in verse or rhyming voice
what matters most is truth’s sincere poise.
To write about sheer beauty
I must imagine, inspired by nature’s bounty
the glory of the Lord, magnifying His sovereignty.
With my poet’s assignment
midst wondrous imagination-involvement
I’m grateful to God for His enabling bestowment.
