When the stars come out at night,
as silent as rising cream.
I'm floating above the clouds,
tucked snugly into a dream.
Removed from reality;
solitude insulates me.
And within quietude's bliss,
my fledgling spirit flies free.
The calm of tranquility
displaces anxiety.
And my skeptical soul basks
in its new-found piety.
Obscured by a veil of sleep,
the truth's nowhere to be seen.
When fantasy's in control,
imagination's queen.
