I’m Sick and Tired

I’m just sick and tired
Of women and children in my village becoming unsolved mysteries.

When they are being taken by outsiders for their satisfaction of sexual massacres and never to be heard or seen.

I’m tired of seeing black little boys being executed for blowing a whistle to white women, for falsely accused of being sexual savage beasts.

As they met their swinging fate,
America took a picture as a badge of honor to celebrate,
Or for walking to a convenience store as a mysterious target ready to be hunted down by a neighborhood captain at Twin Lakes.

I’m tired of seeing black little girls being killed for singing Amazing Grace at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Bombingham,
For being shot over an orange juice when she has a dollar and seventy-nine cents in her bag,
Or for just going door to door to raise charity by selling candy for a cause at her school.

I’m sick and tired of black men being brutalized
And sacrificed for wrongfully being accused of selling bootleg cigarettes as he gasp for air to fight for his life.

Then one of the boys in blue try to claim it was an error when actual evidence shows it was only five packages legally paid, for simply jogging in the neighborhood and still be murdered by three hillbillies in a clear sunlight, or for selling CDs as the CD man in Baton Rouge to other residents on this lovely day in the sun, just to be the next prey on the streets for them to deceive and paint him as the animal with a steel, in order to gun him down and take him as one of their trophies.

I’m sick and tired of us black women being sacrificed and blamed for trying to relax in our comfort home just to be slaughtered in the middle of the night as the unknown acquaintance next door declared that the front door was open, for failing a simple traffic stop just to be placed in dungeon cell with no citation.

Then three days later be hung by the neck or for calling help for safety and here comes a spiritual demon walking into the house starting a chaos as we rebuke him to not use his demonic weapon to take our lives and our souls.

I’m sick and tired of us being blamed for everything when we didn’t create hate to spread all through the nation or force on a ship in chains as slaves to be transported to a stolen land to pick cottons in the fields for them, to cook for them, to clean for them, and to nurse their breeds.

I’m sick and tired of one of our own crawling to the their knees to get acceptance hoping that the gate will open the possibilities of institutional gatekeeping, standard of beauty, and survival strategies to protect themselves from discrimination.

Most of all, I am sick and tired of these klansmen creating their own Jim Crow laws to take away my tribes access to our rights and our benefits in order to live and survive.

Our ancestors are calling us from the promise land to unite as one to rebel against bigotry and segregation in silence.

It is time to stand together, to sing our songs to America, and end its racial disease against us.

It is time to sing our songs to be heard and fight the injustice war in this society.

As we battle and unite as one, we will not fall but
We will rise.
