Listen to poem:
I'm In Here
I don’t mean to be mysterious
I think I’m basically an open book
At times more vulnerable
than I’d ever dare to be
It’s true I’m not much for volunteering
but I’ll tell you anything you want to know
Yes, to my detriment, I do hold back
and don’t express much how I feel
But I’ll never tell a lie, and if you persist
I’ll open up to share my every little secret
My thoughts, not just the deepest ones
are guarded much like Fort Knox
Yet there’s nothing I’d like more than set them free
it’s insufferable how their shackles weigh me down
Submerged, at times I cannot breathe
I ask you please to not give up on me
