I'M Cap-Sized

Ball caps were styled in a way
To shade your eyes from the sun thru the day
        The design was unique
In the front was a beak
Which sure did the trick I must say!

How many years have gone by
To guess - I won’t even try
        But now I am vexed
        Or you could say perplexed
Since cap wearing has all gone awry!

My query needs to be said
The answer I already dread
But I’ll give it a whack
Why wear the beak to the back
If you've no eyes in the back of your head?

Excellent!! I've wondered the same thing, but you put it so wittily: "Why wear the beak to the back." I think folks are just trying to look cool! Love, Carolyn

These are quite the witty ones leading up to the culminating point in the last one. Smile. Agape, Moses

Its a style thing Ralph.. pro athletes and music rappers started wearing their caps this way as a sign of being stylish .. so its just a runway thing ..like modeling .. fashion sense and all that my friend... its a fashion statement.. there.. hope that answers your mesmerizing question and adorable poem.. my sons all wear them that way.. haha.. with luv from the "Sweetheart" in Hawaii.. posted some vacation photos if u want to see a little piece of island magic.

A great write that had me smiling as it reminded me off the time my late husband wore his with the peak at the back to prevent his neck getting sunburned while we were out on a boat in the canary islands - when he took it off at the end of the day he had a big half moon shape burned into his forehead - it was so funny - had our girls laughing for days - thanks for the memory. Glad that you thought of this one...Timely topic that needed to be broached..I guess it is to keep from getting a red neck and being a rednecker...Sara
