I'M a Total Failure

I couldn't do the math homework.
I'll never be any good at math.
In fact, I'll flunk all my subjects at school
I'll never be any good at anything

         I'm a total failure.

Nobody likes me in my science class.
I'll never make any friends in the class.
In fact, nobody in the entire school likes me.
I'll never ever have a friend again.

        I'm totally unlikeable.

I missed every shot I took in basketball today.
I always miss all of my shots.
In fact, I'll never make another shot as long as I live.
I have no athletic ability whatsoever.

        I stink at sports.

I blew another job interview today.
I blow every interview I get.
Nobody will ever want to hire me.
I'll never get a job again.

      I'm totally worthless.

This one hurt to read because I know this is true for many. We defeat ourselves before ever giving ourselves a chance. Nicely expressed my friend.

Yup, you're right---and we are all vulnerable to it, lest we kid ourselves. Gotta be on our guard when we start berating ourselves... ~ Gershon

Well penned, Gershon. Really showing how quick that downward spiral can go.

You are so right, Line. It's like that proverbial snowball rolling down the mountain: Once the downward spiral gathers steam, it's like a locomotive -- fast, powerful, and very hard to stop. Gotta catch it at the top of the hill... ~ Gershon
