Notes About The Poem
Mom and Me, 1980

I'll be there by and by

CONTEST: Put your best foot forward. JUDGED 4/14/24
Mother is ninety now, frail, and asleep much too often. This may be her last year; she wants to go home and be with God, but does not want to leave me. Go Mom, I'll be there by and by.

Dear Chetta, your words caress softly around me and my heart. This is tender and sad, all at the same time. Sharing with your mom that you'll be okay, is very comforting. Keeping you both in my thoughts. Congratulations on Poem of the Day. Hugs, Brandy

Reminds me of my mom telling me Jesus had her place ready and she was ready to go home ... she passed 3 days later in her sleep. Hard to let her go, but I know she's where she should be. She's still with me in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for sharing this heartfelt moment with us, Chetta. Congratulations on your POTD! Enjoy your special day of recognition. Bill
