Ignorance

Ignorance

                            Industrial tyrants wield ungodly power

Polluting oceans and jungles and skies

Apathy betrays a hungry desert flower

Gold and addictive oil the chosen prize

Broken promises fail to save the whale

On center stage mock tears glaze eyes

                            Venomous stifling gas newborns inhale

Ignorance drive beings to their demise

What an important poem Anselmo. It is so thought provoking and especially timley , as the oceans for example, are getting filled more and more with pollution as each day goes by. My daughter just started working for the EPA and I would love for her to read this poem. I am glad to have found it.

Ignorance for the tyrants is bliss; for everyone and everything else, quite the opposite. Meaningful penning, my friend!

Great poem. It shows how little we care for the environment.

Anselmo, your writing is absolutely wonderful. I'm delighted to have came across such a beautiful poem. From the very first verse to the very last line, you expressed relevant views about the world we live in today.
