If You Could
Inner turbulence swirls
Imprisoned
As in liquid amber,
When motion ends
And the peace
And the stillness
Of eternity doesn't
Answer the question,
If you could
You'd gaze beyond
Your tiny prison,
And if you could
You'd greet a star
New-born
On your horizon
And if you could
You'd ask the void
"Is that it?"
But you know the answer
Anyway
Don't you.
You've known it all along.
