A little scribble for Ink Empress ocean prompt

15 September 2023

i remember all of our first times all of our poems i've always been safer in air yet you kept me afloat in rushing tides but without your beautiful silhouette eyes see sadness in indigo weeping waves the whole ocean seems empty to me unable to stroke like a butterfly i'm drowning in ripples of loneliness wondering if that was the last time I would gaze into your brown eyes i was lost in your arms now i'm annoyed at being found labyrinth of lament is a boat trapped in a glass bottle love is an analogy of two hearts fate a game of chance without luck was it the last time i would roam in your flower garden feel heartbeats from your chest rest upon the softness of your breasts aroma of your sensual skin still caresses my fingertips as your memories comfort like a winter scarf if only it was your lips on my coffee cup your kiss to soothe the bitterness yet i'm lonelier than the summer moon burning away like a fading star ageing in the transgression of time grey strands overcoming my appearance was that the last time i would wipe your tears hold you passionately in my arms you rise with the music of dawn whilst i sink in the smoky silent haze of dusk so i sit upon distant shivery shores whilst moonlight glimmers upon your turquoise sea your memories seem more melancholic in the rain everything seems colder in the confusion of absence wondering if this will be the last time i answer you calling my name hear you tell me you hate me - then remind me you love me then portray it in poetry what if this was the last poem last time we get to say goodbye

A great love that left you unfathomably lonely but with whom you now have to say goodbye to after a roller coaster ride of love you, love you not, hate you but still love you and then portrays it in poetry - a sentimental and enormously moving write Silent One, Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Definitely the most amazing little scribble I have ever read. The possibility of becoming the last time, holds such tragedy, such deep melancholy feelings with the confusion of absence. It resounds so loudly the memory of having someone so loved, being on distant shores after being with them, perhaps for the last time. Congratulations, It brings back memories to me.

Dear Silent one, your poems are not just artistic and creative, but they are evocative and soul stirring’ this is one of those poems anyone would read and tear up and feel so much, as i felt the longing the love and how separation of lovers can feel, and its clever how you’ve used oceanic wordplay to deliver this, deeply moving and poignant poem. “ im lonelier than the summer moon” “ was that the last time” “ you rise with music of dawn..i sink in hazy smoke of dusk” thats so deep, and shows-

I'm always speechless when I read your words, your heart, your smile beneath the setting sun of a soul who is only silenced by the promise in the rainbow. Your poetry is, as it typically is, comprised of dewlike sunrise and melting sunset... flowing with enchantment and sensations of rhythmic heartbeats - You're such a brilliant poet! God bless you always and thank you for this one, Love, Gina

WOW! Beautiful poetry, S.O. The passion, the love, the raw emotions were so engaging. I could feel the remorse of ... if this was the last time. It resonates with my soul. Rare, but I'm FAVing two in a row of your poems. Too good to let it float by. Your Free Verse is awesome, my friend. Bill

This piece is truly so emotional and pulls the reader's heartstrings.. These lines are dipped in poignant feelings and the way you've illustrated such a heavenly connection of love between two souls and how they are wandering in the thoughts whether if this was their last poem, for each other.. Oh my, the word choices and lines are so delicately crafted here which compels the reader to read again n again.. There are so many lines that I loved here.. But, the ending part just hits so differently

SO, I have been taken on a poetic journey through the "melancholic," "loneliness," "grieving," and have been left on the doorstop with the question of what if?! What a gift you give to PS with your stunning images and the skill to make words bend to your poetic will. Thank you for sharing this poem. Blessings to you!

Were they chocolate browns? "Your memories seem more melancholic in the rain ..." Reminds me a bit of my poor fellow in Ludicrous lucidity. Love/hate, hate/love. Relationships are complicated as you so well describe. Good to see you writing in this smaller venue again SO

Awesome poem my friend. The repeating sound of if it was the last time, cherishing memories of life's revelries, enhance the beauty of love and this poem. I thought it was your prompt you wrote this poem about--not the ocean prompt. Either way, A FAVE for this stunning creation.
