If Poe Was My Best Friend

As I write through the pain, this pen might as well be a razor blade
This sheet is sharper than a million paper cuts could have ever made
Thoughts dropping by the second faster than a guillotine's slayed
If Poe was my best friend, I'm sure he'd find these sentiments relayed
Rather than a fitting end, I'll just listen to the saddest songs ever played

Focusing on the sadness too long can lead to mistakes in a person's life. You have friends here at poetry soup, Anonomus. Many of us understand the feelings of loss.
