If Only You Knew

Love came and went like a lost Autumn leaf
tumbling from a naked limb of death
though beauty was found her kisses turned brief
tender, gentle, then a Winter's breath
in my heart's landscape, my eyes are crying
darkness falls silent when feeling pain
to never understand love was dying
to shrivel away till' nothing remained
memories come, I cast them asunder
to be burned to ashes from love's lost years
where all emotion is buried under
shrouded by my eyes long visible tears
If only you knew what I came to know
I wait for my tears to begin to slow

Hey Frederic, your sonnet masterfully conveys the anguish of lost love through rich imagery and emotive language. Its exploration of themes such as the brevity of joy, the depth of sorrow, and the struggle for acceptance resonates deeply, making it a powerful and evocative piece. Hello Frederic, Your words cut deep, creating a picture of love's fleeting nature. It's like you've captured the essence of heartbreak in every line. Your talent for expressing raw emotion is truly profound. May your tears bring clarity and healing as you navigate love's tumultuous journey. Good luck in the contest. - Blessings, Daniel
