We dance the dance of pretence

As we humans are conditioned to do

If only we could honestly and respectfully say without fear of offence

Excellent point, Deb. I know I can't do it. In fact, right now I have a great reason to do it with someone who I've wanted to say it to for years -- but I cannot bring myself to say it, and I keep beating around the bsh. This one is a bullseye. ~ Gershon

It's long been accepted that if you've nothing good to say... say nothing, but keeping one's mouth shut is how my country has been plunged inside a dill pickle jar.
