If Life Is Strife

Life is strife But strife is life Pain lingers in my core I can feel it evermore Who wouldn’t will a cry, Rather than demand to die? Life is strife But strife is life I only stalk the night With a knife in my right Spiting curses and fear Gripping my shadow near Life is strife But strife is life I am only a corpse Living on others’ crops Like a standing skeleton Charged to build a guillotine
