If I were a star, lighting up the night
Filling hearts with joy and hope
Inspiring souls to listen to the silence
That breathes a caress across the spirit
Whispering kindness to the listener

If I were a star…

I’d look down to those soft wishes
Made on my twinkling shimmer
Enlightening the heart with a quiver
Of intimate hues that shadow the sparkle
With halos of pure, untainted love

If I were a star…

Famous for the wishes that come true
After they’ve been given a sigh to
Encourage the believer to keep trusting
Imagining, creating, giving and praising
With a heart that knows unending faith

If I were a star…

I’d answer the heart who truly heard
My plea for them to give all they could
From the kindliness, where joy withstood
The test of time, trial and tribulation
Growing more alive and more faithful

If I were a star…

My fame would be told all over the world
Reminding the one who takes a moment
To murmur a prayer, a hope, a wish
For inspiration, serenity and grace
To be a way of life, a reason for praise

If I were a star…

I’d reach out to you wherever you are
And free your doubts from their gloom
Revealing the wonder found in truth
The pearls of great worth discovered
Inside the one who believes, never giving up

If I were a star, glittering and shining
Across the darkest sky… reflecting the vibrant
Dance of glistening, lively luminosities
I would scatter charms of elation wherever
My light happened to blaze with its flame of euphoria

If I were a star, as famous as the sun and moon
I’d reach out to your heart with the hope
That you would listen to the light of my reflection
And know that you are someone deserving
Of all my dazzling, glistening, flashing exhibits

If I were a star…

I would know the answers to all of your dreams
I’d reach out to you with happiness that fills
Comforting your heart, coloring your soul
In shades of laughter, lighting up your world
With my flawless smile of goodness and charm

If I were a star…

My fame would surely light up your thoughts
Brighten your hopes with assurance and warmth
Bring feathery wishes to their realization
Satisfying desires and reassuring all yearnings
That their wishes were heard and secured

If I were a star…

I would live for the gift of giving back to you
A small part of the joy that comes to me
When you lift up your lips toward the heavens
And breathe a longing from your breast
I live for the gift of your tender request

If you, Regina, were a star shining down this planet, Earth would be the kindliest place in the universe. Your heartfelt care and concern for humanity blazes throughout every line of every stanza. Blessings, Gershon
