If I ruled the world,
I'd build paradise; a safe haven
and make it flourish and endure.
The state of affairs would be
diametrically different than they're today...
If I ruled the world.
If I ruled the world,
I'd give all dreamers mighty wings to fly
I'd pull the downtrodden and the oppressed up
by the bootstraps. I'd eradicate corruption
and famine. I'd give vagabonds a place to call home...
If I ruled the world.
If I ruled the world,
Not one soul would stand at the edge
of destiny, afraid to take a leap.
All and sundry would live and prosper
harmoniously; my solemn promise...
If I ruled the world.
If I ruled the world,
I'd be the gift of sunshine for those
frozen in a winter of malcontent
The world would be devoid of wars;
a better, happier, more peaceful place...
If I ruled the world.
If I ruled the world,
No one would struggle with debt
No one would be engulfed
in the abyss of despair.
The light of hope will continue to shine...
If I ruled the world.
