If I Ruled the World
If I ruled the world, I’d make sure
the best minds were working with me.
Not FOR me but really WITH me.
Minds of souls with love that was pure.
Things like lie detectors I’d use
to be certain for what my peers stood.
They’d stand for that which is good,
and their powers they’d not abuse.
If I ruled the world, peace of mind
first and foremost would be the key.
But benefits all can’t be free.
Jobs for everyone my team would find.
If a healthy adult would not work
after good work had been found for him,
the outlook for him would be grim.
No cell phones or luxuries for such a jerk!
If I ruled the world, education
would be granted to all, and we’d try
to make sure each gal and each guy
was matched with a job -their selection.
The disabled and kids would be fed.
No freebies for cheats any more!
Jobs would be for both rich and the poor.
Rich you’d be if by that way you’re led!
But if I ruled the world, all the rich
would pay taxes so they’d do their part.
If they could not give from their heart,
as their ruler, I would be a witch!
If greed ruled their hearts, not a dime
would they get, but to prison be sent.
The same for all citizens bent
on carrying out major crime.
If I ruled the world, people wise
would be chosen as judges. No one
could pay that elections be won!
No corruption there’d be; no more lies.
I would not expect a church choir,
but a change of our mindsets is due.
Respect for all folks; nature too!
What an overhaul this would require!
If I ruled the world, I suppose
it would be a most difficult task.
Many questions the people would ask
like how to this role I arose!
Since the whole world would have to agree -
do you know where I’m going with this?
It’s my fantasy - this world of bliss!
And just if the world wanted me!
