If I Gotta Go

“IF I’VE GOTTA GO”

I’ve seen what lies ahead
What mom’s doctor did choose
A nursing home nightmare
Her mind and body bruise.

She was happy at first
Her dearest friend was there
Each did their very best
Oversee each one’s care.

Won’t be that way for me
From the start be worse
“If gotta go” somewhere
God pray, it’s in a hearse!

We have a great one here in Iowa that I look forward to spending some time in one of these days. Leanne Lovejoy-Burton January 28, 2018 at 3:39 AM I hate nursing homes. My father was in one, he didn't want to be there either. But if one is isolated and requires 24/7 care, where else can one go....other than on that final drive...and that's one drive a person tries to avoid.
