If I Followed You Home
I've lived in alleyways, hunting for scraps.
Surviving by wits, avoiding all traps.
I've had enough of those uncertain days
And I'm looking for some place to stay.
I've followed my instincts, lived in the wild.
Been raised in a barn, a natural child.
I think I'm ready for taming my ways
And I'm looking for some place to stay.
I may howl at the moon, keep you up nights.
I’ll growl and I'll bark though I'll never bite.
I'll be obedient, watch me obey
If you will give me some place to stay.
I think you could train me.
I think I'll be true.
There at your heels I'll be following you.
I'd come when you call me.
I'd sit. I would stay.
And I'd never go away!
If I followed you home do you think you would keep me?
Give me a small place to sleep? Would you feed me?
Give me a pet name, make sure I'm not alone?
If I followed you home. If I followed you home…
